Iron pipe, possibly a water pipe, observed at the bottom of several post-holes during a watching brief at Eastney Sewage Pumping Station in 2021.

The pipe was recorded in post-holes between 0.5m-0.6m deep excavated against the concrete kerb on the south side of the Cooling Pond and in a further post-hole east of the Cooling Pond, where the pipe changed direction to run north-south. The change of direction was presumed to have been made to avoid pumping sumps situated to the east. It was thought the pipe probably carried the existing water supply to the Beam Engine House.
