Full Description
Mid-19th century forged iron Admiralty pattern anchor modified for use as a mooring anchor. Probably naval. The find was located close to the entrance of Basin No.1 in Portsmouth Dockyard which suggests that it may have been used by vessels to manoeuvre in and out of the basin. Thought to be an isolated find.
