Find Spot MPM2075 - 19th century Admiralty Pattern anchor with iron stock, Portsmouth Harbour

Admiralty pattern anchor with iron stock retrieved by grab from Portsmouth Harbour in 2015 during the Queen Elizabeth Class Capital Dredge Project.

Type of anchor introduced in 1841 by Admiral Sir William Parker. The iron stock suggested this was early example. The anchor had been adapted for use as a permanent mooring by the arm being bent over flush with the shank. No markings.
