Full Description

20th century balanced spade rudder recovered from Portsmouth Harbour. Another balanced spade rudder was also recovered during the Capital dredge project (see MPM2099) although this example was a slightly different design.

Damage to the rudder blade suggested that it may have been lost from a vessel, possibly as a result of coming into contact with the seabed.
