Full Description
Forged iron Baldt stockless anchor recovered from Portsmouth Harbour during dredging as part of the Queen Elizabeth Class Capital Dredge Project in 2016. The design for this type of stockless anchor was patented by the Baldt company of Chester, Pennsylvania in 1897. The anchor may have been lost in use or abandoned, or possibly used as a mooring anchor.
