Description
Watching Brief undertaken during the construction of new apartments and a retail unti on the site of 74-76 Hight Street, Cosham. The excavation of a basement under the most recent buildings on the site had removed any archaeology that may have been present along the street front. Documentary research suggested that until the early 20th century, the site appeared to have been within farmland that may have once been part of a medieval open field system. The site was not occupied by street front buildings until between 1910 and 1932.
